I’m Katherina Ortega, founder of Katy’s Details. Born in the Dominican Republic, I was diagnosed with Polio at six months and didn’t attend school until age nine due to my physical limitations. At eighteen, I moved to the U.S. without knowing English and graduated by twenty-one. Today, I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling and have worked as a Behavioral Therapist for over 11 years.
My passion for natural skincare began after learning about the harmful chemicals FDA-approved that are in the products that we consume. I started creating safe, plant-based skincare for my family and friends. Most of the herbs I grow, and some are locally sourced and I dehydrate them to use in my products and preserve for the winter. All my products are gluten-free, aluminum-free, cruelty-free, and packaged sustainably as much as possible.
I believe everyone deserves access to clean, affordable products that will benefit them and our planet. My mission is simple: to create products that nurture the body naturally, made with integrity, care, and love.
