My Experience at NYFW Powered by FDLA

Living the experience of New York Fashion Week by FDLA is not just about being in the right place; it's feeling that every step of the journey—the sacrifices, the doubts, and the dreams that once seemed distant—finally begins to make sense. Being at NYFW powered by FDLA, under the direction of the visionary Albania Rosario, was much more than covering a runway… It was remembering why I started.

For many, New York is just a city. For me, it has been a test—a challenge that demands you to be better every step of the way. And seeing how FDLA, led by Albania Rosario, has become a real bridge for Latino designers and creatives filled me with pride. It’s a reminder that no matter where you come from, Latino talent has a place, an impact, and an increasingly powerful voice.

On September 14th, one of the most vibrant days took place. Emerging designers from Bogotá lit up the runway with identity, passion, and bravery. Sharing this space with figures such as Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Manuel Febriles, Mundana, Idol José, Benito Fernández, and Carlos Sierra was inspiring. It wasn’t just fashion; it was a cry of culture, authenticity, and belonging. I remember looking around and thinking: “If I ever doubted my dreams, today they are answering me.”

September 15th was just as powerful. Giannina Azar hypnotized everyone with her elegance, Carlos Pineda celebrated a decade of trajectory honoring his Mexican roots with unforgettable designs, and Aleska Genesis, with the debut of Brilleska, showed us that the future is bold, fresh, and fearless. Every step on that runway made me feel that I wasn’t just documenting fashion… I was witnessing history.

Walking through the halls of the United Palace, feeling the energy of the backstage, was indescribable. As a photographer, my job is to capture moments… but this time, the moments also captured me.

In the end, I understood something: NYFW by FDLA is not just an event; it’s a confirmation. A conversation between who you dreamed of becoming and who you are beginning to be.

Because fashion changed my life…

 And NYFW reminded me why.
